📄 Our Governance: What Guides Our Work
Reading Ukrainian School Lastivka is registered as a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means we exist not for private profit, but to serve the Ukrainian community in the UK, especially children and families.
Our Articles of Association set out the rules for how we are run. In plain terms, they explain:
-
✅ Our Purpose: We support the educational, cultural, and social development of Ukrainian children and young people through classes, events, and community engagement.
-
👥 Who Runs the School: We are managed by a small group of directors: Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Financial director, who make sure the school is working in the best interest of our community.
-
💰 How We Use Money: Any income we receive is used only to support our work—no profits go to individuals.
-
🛡️ Community Accountability: As a CIC, we report to Companies House and the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies to ensure transparency and proper use of funds.
